Dance is a physical activity that can improve functional independance in children with cerebral palsy.
- Objectif 1 - Determine the feasibility of an intensive telehealth dance program.
- Objectif 2 - To assess the intensity and volume of physical activity of youth with cerebral palsy during a telehealth dance class.
Study: 16 children with cerebral palsy participated in a five-week intensive dance program (total 15 hours). Measurements of physical activity level were performed during the intervention. General criteria were also proposed to study the feasibility of the study.
Researcher involved: Catherine Mercier;
Children and teens living with cerebral palsy often have difficulty using their arms or legs. This can influence the performance of activities requiring physical effort and therefore have a direct impact on their daily lives.
The main objectives of this study are: 1) to assess the links between potential visual problems and arm function; 2) to assess the impact of potential visual problems on participation in leisure activities requiring physical effort or not.
